BIO
Combining rhythmic fingerstyle guitar and a voice compared to Joni Mitchell by Folk Radio UK, Zoë Wren puts a refreshingly bold twist on her folk influences to craft contemporary ballads that have featured on BBC Radio 2, Clash Magazine and won Fatea’s Debut Album of the Year. Since launching her career as a London Underground busker, Zoë has gone on to open for Ralph McTell and play festivals from Cambridge Folk Festival to Glastonbury, as well as performing in Paris and Toronto. Zoë now livestreams her mix of acoustic originals and layered Ableton live loops as a Twitch Partner to thousands of viewers worldwide each week.
Zoë has also appeared on The One Show, BBC One with Nile Rogers promoting her work with music and dementia for charity Live Music Now. A previous winner of the PRS Lynsey de Paul Prize, Zoë’s debut album was supported by grants from the Alan Surtees Trust and the Drake YolanDa Award, as well as the generous contributions of her community on Twitch. Zoë’s other musical project is performing with Jasmine Watkiss as the award winning Americana duo Roswell. Winners of Purbeck Rising and the Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Competition, Roswell have toured in Germany, showcased in Cannes, Geneva and Ibiza, and performed at festivals across the UK.
